We are at PyCon India!

Pycon India

Pycon India

PyCon India is the primary Python conference in India. Brilliant Python developers from India and abroad get together to share their wealth of knowledge with the community. We at Tenmiles use a lot of cutting edge technologies. But the fact that our flagship products HelpdeskPilot and HappyFox are built on Python speak volumes about our love.

Representing Tenmiles at PyCon is our developer extraordinaire Saket Bhushan. He is scheduled to present a session titled “Guide to TDD and Flight to BDD with python/django” on Saturday, September 29.

Do attend the conference and while at it, say hello to Saket! He gave us a pic of his to make it easy for people to find him in the crowd!

Except for a beard and a kind voice, the looks are very uncanny!

NASSCOM Product Conclave 2010 takes place at Hotel Lalit Ashok, Bangalore later this week and we’re looking forward to attending.

Shalin will be speaking about “Creating Passionate Users”, as part of a track panel on 11th November, from 1130 to 1230 at the Convention Hall. If you’re attending the conference, do drop in and  join us in this session.

Product Conclave 2010 also marks our first association with NASSCOM as the official event registration partner. Our online registration application, doattend, powered delegate registrations to Product Conclave 2010 and we’re quite excited about gauging the overall feedback from the delegates in attendance.

This year’s Product Conclave boasts of a number of truly exceptional speakers. It certainly is going to be an enriching event.

See you there!

Tenmiles turns ten

What began as a single man, no-office-premises company in Madras (now Chennai), Tenmiles has now completed ten years in operation and has grown from one product to now having a modest, yet proud Vanity Shelf. We have attracted people, helped people solve their problems with our software and are ambitious about making the company the biggest software product company in the country. Read on to know about the insights of the company, from someone who’s seen things from close quarters.

At the helm of Tenmiles, is Shalin Jain, the Founder and CEO who decided he wanted to be one at the age of 18. While he was good at designing websites and making flash presentations back then, his constant dream to be involved with a software product company and engage in making good software, was hard to forget. Thus began the company. The first product was Screenswift, which simply converted flash screensavers into screensaver installers. You could get that Spiderman flash screen into your desktop screensaver in a jiffy. The tool was available in Free and Enterprise editions and we found takers in the likes of IBM, Microsoft and Disney for the Enterprise edition. That was it. We had to be doing something right!
